Global Warming Presentation with Will Steger
April 29 7:00 p.m. in the Atwood Memorial Center at St. Cloud State University. Will Steger will present a photo presentation on his 45 years of polar exploration. More... Steger will hold two other presentations on April 29. One at Saint John's University from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Pellegrene Auditorium. Another at Saint Jonh's Prep on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Used Book Sale
The Lindgren Child Care Center at St. Cloud State University is holding their 3rd annual Used Book Sale. The sale will happen Wednesday April 22nd from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be children's books and adult fiction books on sale, two for $1. All proceeds will benefit recycling and conservation efforts on campus. In the past, the sale has paid for 150 reusable grocery bags and a tank that holds vegetable oil used to fuel the Metro Bus Husky Fried Ride.

Prescription Drug Take Back Event
Thursday, April 30th, from noon until 7:00 p.m. at the Lake George Municipal Complex in St. Cloud. No questions asked, no ID required. Will accept unused or outdated prescription drugs or other (illegal, street) drugs. If you have questions or need more information, please call (320) 250-2384.
Storm Drain Marking
May 11 at 10:00 a.m. Volunteers are needed to meet at the Municipal Athletic Complex to clean and mark as many as 7,000 drains in St. Cloud. To register call 320-251-5081 ask for extension 25.
St. Cloud Compost Site
City residents who subscribe to City refuse collection services are eligible to use the City’s self-haul compost site located at River Bluffs Regional Park area east of County Road 75 off of 33rd Street South. A compost site permit must be purchased at City Hall. KILL-A-WATT Challenge
The City of Sauk Rapids is loaning KILL-A-WAT monitors to all residents. These monitors assist in detecting inefficient home appliances. Please come in to City Hall during business hours and check out the monitors! They can be borrowed for two weeks. Contact: Marney Curfman, City Planner, for more information at 258-5334.
Sauk Rapids Compost Site
Opens April 22. Open Wednesdays from noon to 7:00 p.m., Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stickers are on sale at City Hall Monday through Friday.
Clean Sweep Week
April 28 - May 2. The compost site will be open Tuesday, April 28th through Friday, May 1st from Noon until 7pm and on Saturday, May 2nd from 8am until 4:30pm. Only citizens of Sauk Rapids, the Orderly Annexation Areas of Minden Township and Sauk Rapids Township residents will be allowed to use the compost site, located 1/2 mile north of Golden Spike Road on County Road.
