Warren Peschl

Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
I am a lifelong resident of Benton County am committed to the future of the county and making a difference. I have been married for 41 years to my wife Judy and have 5 children – 4 of which reside in Benton County. I have been self employed as a crop and livestock farmer for 42 years and have kept my business going by being concerned with costs and controlling expenses. I am committed to community service and demonstrated this by serving on the Foley Board of Education for 12 years and am the current Chairman of the St. Lawrence Parish Council. I also am the current Secretary of Mid Minnesota Mutual Insurance Company and have held this positing for 26 years.

What experience do you have that prepares you for public office?
My Service on the Foley board of Education game me a good sense of managing budgets and people’s expectations.

Being a business owner has also taught me how to control costs and make tough decisions.

My commitment to public and community service has given me the experience to know that while there may be challenges, I can make a difference for the county.

Why did you decide to run for this office?
I am committed to all residents of Benton County – both those in the city and the rural residents. I would like to ensure that all are treated fairly. My education has been rooted in the real life experience of owning my own business and I think this will come in handy while making tough decisions. I will use common sense and challenge the current situation by understanding the issues and educating myself on those issues important to Benton County Residents. I welcome the chance to get involved and make a difference.

Top three issues you would tackle, if elected.
Being conscious of spending to keep taxing in line with inflation and the current challenging economic environment. It’s important to have a balanced budget.

Focus on business development by bringing in more commercial or industrial business to help our tax base.
