WJON Sports


The St. John's football team defeated Carleton 14-10 Saturday afternoon to win the MIAC title and clinch a spot in the Division III NCAA tournament.  St. John's fell behind 10-7 in the 4th quarter only to come back when Joe Boyle connected with Jeff Schnobrich on a 22-yard touchdown pass to put the Johnnies up for good.  Boyle threw for 260 yards and a touchdown and ran for another 52 yards and a touchdown to lead St. John's.  The Johnnies improve to 6-2 in the MIAC and 8-2 overall.  St. John's win the conference title outright with the win.
