WJON Sports


The St. Cloud River Bats won both games of a doubleheader Sunday against Wisconsin 6-3 in game 1 and 4-3 in game 2 at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud.  The two teams were playing 2 Sunday because of Saturday's rainout.  In the first game Jordan Thibodeaux threw 7 2/3 innings with 4 hits and 2 unearned runs allowed to get the win and improve to 1-1.  Kurtis Frymier recorded the final 4 outs to get the save.  Kevin Johnson went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and Preston Hale went 2-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI's for St. Cloud.  In the 2nd game Frymier threw 2/3 of an inning to get the win in relief and Xavier Esquivel threw the last 2 innings to grab his 6th save.  Brian Hernandez went 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs and Preston Hale was 1-3 with a run scored and 1 RBI.  The Bats improve to 15-14 and will host Duluth beginning a 2-game series tonight at 7:05, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 6:35.
