Wolves can match offers to Gomes, Smith, Richard

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Timberwolves have extended qualifying offers to free agents Ryan Gomes (gohmz), Craig Smith and Chris Richard.

That means Minnesota has the option of matching any offers other teams may make for any of those players.

Gomes was acquired from Boston in the deal for Kevin Garnett and set career highs in points, rebounds and assists last season. Smith is a forward who comes off the bench while Richard played sparingly this past season.
