MINNEAPOLIS -- Denard Span had a solid game for the Twins after being recalled from Triple-A Rochester.
Span replaced the injured Michael Cuddyer (cuh-DYE'-er) in right field last night against the Tigers and made a spectacular tumbling catch on the first pitch of the game. He went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI double in the Twins' 5-4 loss.
Span was with the big club in April, hitting .258 in 12 games.
