Tigers rally to beat Twins
by The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Tigers beat the Twins 5-4 as the two red-hot teams opened a three-game series at the Metrodome.

Curtis Granderson's go-ahead RBI single capped a two-run eighth as the Tigers rallied for the win. His single to right-center fell in front of Carlos Gomez and knocked in Matt Joyce. Joyce tripled one batter earlier to score Gary Sheffield with the tying run.

Detroit has won six straight while the Twins entered the game having one 11 of its last 12.

Today, the Twins' Scott Baker takes his 4-2 record to the mound against the Tigers' Nate Robertson, who's 6-6. First pitch at 7:10 p.m.
