The Minnesota Wild on the first day of NHL free agency were very active. The Wild signed free agent wings Andrew Brunette and Craig Weller and traded for defenseman Marek Zidlicky from Nashville. The Wild gave up forward Ryan Jones and a 2nd round pick in the 2009 draft for Zidlicky. Zidlicky is considered an offensive minded defenseman. Brunette had been playing in Colorado but played for the Wild from 2001-2004.
