Twins top Tigers, take two of three

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins got the best of Detroit in their series at the Metrodome, taking two of three from the Tigers.
Joe Mauer's two-run single sparked a five-run third as Minnesota won the series finale, 7-0. Twins starter Nick Blackburn combined with relievers Jesse Crain and Boof Bonser (BAHN'-zur) on a five-hitter.
Minnesota has won 13 of its last 15 games in its pursuit of first-place Chicago in the AL Central. Detroit is hot, too, havingnwon 18 of 22 coming into the series against the Twins.
Minnesota opens a weekend series at home tomorrow against Cleveland.
