Mpls. mayor's driver's license suspended

MINNEAPOLIS -- It's a good thing Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak already was planning to bike to work Friday. His driver's license has been suspended.
Court records show Rybak received a speeding ticket in Olmsted County in June 2006. He paid $142, but that amount was $80 short of what he still owes.
Rybak's license was suspended in February, but he says he only learned about it Thursday. He says he had mailed a check to pay the ticket but ``must not have calculated it right.''
Rybak says he was returning from a Democratic convention in Rochester to a festival in Minneapolis two years ago when he was ``rightfully'' ticketed for speeding.
He says he'll take care of the $80 he owes.
Rybak left his Prius at City Hall on Thursday.
