Altered photos sparks outrage from Texas school officials
by The Associated Press
McKINNEY, Texas -- School officials in McKinney, Texas, say they're appalled by altered photos _ including heads on different bodies _ in hundreds of high school yearbooks delivered this week.
The Dallas Morning News reports that besides the head and body switching, some necks were stretched, and some outfits were altered by a Minnesota-based national photography company.
School officials say the company acknowledged that someone with Eden Prairie-based Lifetouch intentionally altered the photos. They say Lifetouch has agreed to pay to reprint the yearbooks.
Lifetouch officials did not respond to the newspaper's requests for comment. An e-mail sent to the company by The Associated Press was not immediately answered.
McKinney is about 20 miles north of Dallas.
