Pawlenty boosts McCain on national TV
by The Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Gov. Tim Pawlenty is again serving as a high-profile spokesman for Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Minnesota's governor appeared Sunday morning on ABC's "This Week" where he defended McCain on his immigration record and other issues. Democratic candidate Barack Obama was represented by Congressman Rahm Emanuel of Illinois.
Pawlenty has been the target of much speculation nationally that he is a lead contender to be McCain's running mate. Pawlenty has consistently deferred on the question of whether he would join the ticket.
