Nearly 14,000 abortions performed in Minnesota in 2007

MINNEAPOLIS --The Minnesota Health Department is reporting that 13,843 abortions were performed in Minnesota last year.

Of those procedures, the agency says 12,770 involved Minnesota residents.

Each year, the Health Department must provide a report on the number of abortions in Minnesota to the Legislature.

The numbers show a slight drop from the year before. In 2006, the agency reported 14,065 abortions in Minnesota.
