Crosses, rings thought stolen turn up at archdiocese's home
by The Associated Press

ST. PAUL -- Several rare pectoral crosses and rings reported missing after a burglary at the home of the St. Paul and Minneapolis archbishop have been found in a box in his bedroom.

The Reverend Lee Piche, vicar general of the archdiocese, found the historical items in a subsequent search of the room.

Archbishop John C. Nienstedt has been on a trip to Rome and Germany. His home was burglarized on Saturday.

Initially, the archdiocese said that as many as six bejeweled pectoral crosses had been taken along with a number of bishop's rings. Four of Nienstedt's pectoral crosses and rings, a safe and a camera were also reported missing.
