Cutting torch likely sparked fire in Green Isle warehouse

GREEN ISLE -- Authorities say a cutting torch likely sparked a fire that destroyed a warehouse in tiny Green Isle in south-central Minnesota.
Sibley County Chief Deputy Pat Nienaber says the blaze at Shamrock Storage was reported around 10 a.m. as workers inside the warehouse were cutting metal with a torch. Firefighters arriving on the scene found the warehouse filled with smoke and intense heat.
More than a dozen fire departments helped fight the blaze. The size of the fire taxed the city's water supply, so the other fire departments brought tanker trucks and aerial tankers.
Shamrock Storage covers two city blocks, storing semitrailer trucks and other items.
