Mpls. teen charged with offering his vote on eBay
by The Associates Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- A 19-year-old Minneapolis man is charged with a felony for offering to sell his vote in the presidential election on eBay.

The Hennepin County attorney's office charged Max P. Sanders with one count of bribery, treating and soliciting under an 1893 state law that makes it a crime to offer to buy or sell a vote.

The criminal complaint says the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office learned about the offering on the Web auction site and told prosecutors.

The posting by "zepdrummer612" says he was 19 and couldn't decide who to vote for the presidential election.

He offered to let the highest bidder decide for him.

Sanders told investigators that he was behind the posting but that it was a joke.
